US NAVY STEM and OUTREACH

The UCSD Near Space Ballooning team sponsored by CaSGC will be displaying informational and educational material regarding high altitude ballooning. Also exhibiting will be electronic equipment such as radio transmitters, cameras, satellite navigation systems, and a glider which can all be payload components recording atmospheric data. From past events, we've seen a growing interest from educators and families interested in launching their own balloons due to material accessibility.

Biology in 3D: The Protein Data Bank is the single worldwide resource for the 3D structures of proteins and DNA. You will learn about two basic building blocks of life: DNA and Proteins and then build a model of each. You will also see computer animations of 3D protein and DNA structures and learn how medicines work.

The San Diego Model Railroad Museum will present an Alternative Energy and Trains display, with our city trolley layout that runs on solar power, a pinwheel craft to demonstrate the use of wind power to move trains, and a visual display of alternative energy used for trains around the world.

Zovargo's booth is interactive and hands-on! There will be live parrots, insects, reptiles and more available for interactions and encounters as well as fun animal games!
