Now in its seventh year, the San Diego Festival of Science & Engineering involves hundreds of businesses, corporations, sponsors, and nonprofits in a week-long celebration of STEM education in San Diego County. EXPO Day at Petco Park is the Festival’s culminating event with over 130 local businesses, corporations, and organizations providing interactive, hands-on activities showcasing STEM from all parts of Southern California. In 2014, more than 24,000 children, parents, and STEM enthusiasts attended EXPO Day, and over 60,000 people participated in festival week events. The event resounds excitement throughout the San Diego community and draws media attention.

Fireside Chats – A mini version of the TED Talk. Industry professionals will give a 10-15 minute talk on what they do in the industry, how they got there and any fun facts they want to add to make it interesting and engaging for the audience. It is an intimate setting of about a dozen chairs circled around a firepit. There will be a Festival volunteer there to introduce each speaker. After the speaking, there is time for the audience to engage in questions and conversation. Each speaker will have a sitting time of 30 minutes.
