The Rosin Box Project (TRBP) is San Diego's premier professional contemporary ballet company. TRBP delivers programming in innovative live performances from its professional company of dance artists, and arts enrichment and integrated educational programs led by TRBP company artists and TRBP teaching artists.
The Rosin Box Project will bring participatory dance activities for its booth offerings in the art pavilion. 'Ballet Machine' is our innovative approach to arts-integrated education, combining Common Core Standards in language learning and development and California Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Standards in Dance to enrich language learning and empower youth through movement. Participants consider and express language concepts through the creation, exploration, performance, and connection of dance. Using our interactive 'Ballet Machine', participants learn the seven basic dance actions and then build dance phrases with our Dance and Teaching Artists to create their very own choreography. Their created dances are performed for each other and as a group - all while simultaneously building complex sentences and reinforcing early language development.
Ballet Machine is our most popular youth education program, both in the classroom and in community outreach settings like festivals and fairs, and is adaptable for youth in grades UTK-8!
