STEM in Your Backyard brings pocket-sized versions of the popular San Diego Festival of Science & Engineering EXPO Day to neighborhoods all over the county throughout the year. STEM In Your Backyard provides access to free, meaningful STEM experiences by bringing the spark of science directly to communities throughout San Diego.
SDYF is an epic yoga festival on the beach in Imperial Beach, San Diego. It is San Diego’s largest yoga festival reaching thousands of holistically-minded (or curious) people! It celebrates humanity and health offering nonstop yoga, meditation and healing classes open to all people, of all ages and all levels of yogic understanding. There is something for people who have never done yoga before, those just beginning, those with a regular practice, and yoga teachers and healers! With classes for kids and even a yoga class for your dog everyone is WELCOME!
Join the Classics Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hutchins Consort in a concert all about patterns. With music from a variety of genres students learn about patterns in beat, rhythm, and form and see how patterns play a role in many other subjects like mathematics, language arts, and science! Women’s History Month bonus: learn about historic American Carleen Hutchins, the string instrument maker who created the Hutchins Consort viols.

Come learn about science and technology through a series of interactive booths! You can learn how a 3D printer works, learn to solder your own circuit, play with a Non-Newtonian slime, hold a snake, build a parachute to test in the wind tunnel, and much, much more!

Marine Science Day is a free showcase of SDSU’s marine lab facility and scientific research for the public, hosted by MEBSA, the Marine Ecology and Biology Student Association. Throughout the day there will be family-friendly activities, research talks given by students and faculty, games, a marine life touch tank, SCUBA gear demonstrations, raffle, and much more!
