Suds & Science. San Diego Research Spotlight: Climate Change and its Effect on Food Security. Join us for a special Suds & Science edition in partnership with the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering and the Weather on Steroids: The Art of Climate Change Science Exhibition on view at the La Jolla Historical Society from February 11 to May 21, 2017. Researchers from UCSD and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography share their latest research on climate change, including its effects on our oceans, marine life, extreme weather, agriculture and food security.

River Kids Discovery Days

On March 10th and 11th, join the San Diego River Park Foundation for a free two-day celebration of the San Diego River featuring nature fun for youth and their families! Groups and individuals from across San Diego County can take part in service projects and outdoor science education opportunities, giving kids a leading role in protecting our natural resources and creating green spaces for the community.

Super STEM Saturday

Super STEM Saturday is designed to expose and engage kids of all ages and their families to the diverse and exciting fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, known as the STEM disciplines. The brainchild of The Classical Academies and held in partnership with CSUSM, Super STEM Saturday has grown into a popular North County event that draws over 7,000 science enthusiasts each year to the university campus.

Vista Unified School District 4th Annual STEM Fest!

Vista Unified School District would like to extend an invitation to join us for our 4th Annual STEM Fest event. STEM Fest is an evening event celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics showcasing K-12 student's innovative and creative STEM work. STEM related companies will host demonstrations and share career related information. MiraCosta and Palomar colleges, Cal State San Marcos and UCSD will also be in attendance providing interactive STEM activities and college STEM course and major information. Ms. Smarty-Plants™ Field Trip at The Water Conservation Garden

Visit Ms. Smarty-Plants™ at the beautiful Water Conservation Garden for an outdoor learning adventure! With her special mixture of music and magic, Ms. Smarty-Plants™ ignites the EARTH HERO in each of us. Sing a song in American Sign Language and be inspired to change the world. Kids will learn about the water cycle, tour The Garden’s trails, and plant a drought tolerant plant to take home. The program is approximately 2 hours in length and is in line with California State Standards, and Next Generation Science Standards.

Cabrillo Bioblitz 2016

Join us at San Diego's only National Park to help celebrate our 100th anniversary with a nation-wide Bioblitz! Come help San Diego scientist quantify all of the plants and animals that call Cabrillo home. There will be science and art based activities for all ages as well as food, fun, and music. Get up. Get out. And FIND YOUR PARK!
