Have you ever seen a brain pulled out of a fly and dissected right in front of you? How does a fish look as an embryo versus as an adult? Come to the Boz Institute’s virtual open house to learn about our projects and programs, and see for yourself how we use worms, fish, and flies to study environmental pollutants’ effects on gene expression in humans.

The San Diego Festival of Science & Engineering, presented by the Illumina Foundation, will be fully virtual this year from April 24-May 2 on lovestemsd.org.

The Live Main Stage event is from 10am-6pm on Tuesday, April 27 and Wednesday, April 28 with fun and interactive STEAM activities, a special Women in STEAM event as well as a COVID-19 conversation for kids and teens.

All volunteers who work with youth are invited to attend this role model training session.

While youth (especially girls) fear failure, STEM professionals have and continue to fail many times in their careers. In this workshop, you will learn storytelling skills to help you artfully communicate your experiences with failing – and the lessons learned – to younger audiences.

The Scripps Research Community Symposium is a public event that invites the community — K-12 teachers, high school students, families with children, community college students, and more — to meet our scientists, hear from our graduate students, and interact with our science in fun and engaging ways.
