Mechanical Advantage
Our booth will contain an approximately 6' x 6' foam surface on which a demonstration robot can be driven by program attendees. We will have a robot box that is about 2' x 2' x 3' in which we will keep supplies. We will have a tabletop display that is 4' x 6' on which we will describe our team's journey this season. Pure Water San Diego
We have an interactive Jeopardy style game called "Water You Know" with prizes awarded for each level. The topics include questions about our local and imported water supply, water challenges, conservation and more.
Frontier Water Systems, LLC.
Frontier Water Systems will demonstrate some of the engineering and design which goes into the creation of our equipment and Bioreactors. We will also show how these are used in the treatment and removal of selenium, nitrate and heavy metals from water that may then be returned to our lakes and rivers. FWS employs innovative Engineers from many disciplines such as Electrical, Computer, Chemical, and Mechanical. We hope to inspire young Engineers to help with our future needs of clean water.
SYSTRA IBT
Our practicing bridge engineers will share their knowledge and passion for structural engineering, which draws on math, physics, design, art, materials, and construction. In addition to illustrative exhibits, we provide an engaging hands-on model bridge building activity that is designed to introduce youth of all ages to basic structural engineering concepts. Bridge model kits are used, consisting of paint-mixing sticks, binder clips, chains, S-hooks, and large bottles of water for load testing.
San Diego Mobile Technology 4 Kids Project
A collection of activities similar to what we did last year which demonstrate and will hands-on expose kids to innovative tech education concepts. This would include a station walk through where we would have Robot Driving/Coding , Artificial Intelligence, Electronics Basics, and of course Virtual Reality (the hit of last years exhibit for us!)
Society of Women Engineers
Participants will balance bricks on levers, feel the benefit of using pulleys, and see how inclined planes can decrease work.
Magnolia Science Academy San Diego
Magnolia Science Academy is a STEAM focused public middle school serving San Diego communities since 2005. Our booth will feature hands-on, interactive math, science and art demonstrations and activities for guests of all ages. These will include tangram puzzles, vortex canon, color marbling, slime, earthquake proof structures, etc.
