Explore interactive demonstrations and hands-on science activities at Super STEM Saturday, including rocket launches, build-a-robot stations, model displays, scientist chats and a obstacle course. Super STEM Saturday is designed to expose and engage kids of all ages and their families to the diverse and exciting fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, known as the STEM disciplines.

ART SCIENCE COMPLEX has originated and designed exercises using drawing and writing to promote latent ability within the brain. Metaphorical thinking promotes both neuroplasticity and "on demand "adult neurogenesis, the mature brain's ability to quickly adapt to novel information and experiential, conceptually driven learning--segue to the generation of new neurons in the hippocampal region, as well their successful integration into the preexisting neuronal network.

Youth, ages 12 to 25, are invited to get a free heart screening on Sunday, March 25 at Torrey Pines High School between 9 am and 3 pm.

What sounds like the beginning of a rather bad joke is actually a fun community program by the Fleet Science Center. During Two Scientists Walk Into a Bar™, local scientists will enjoy something we all do: a good conversation in a local bar. Join them, and ask them anything you want! They'll be easy to spot. Just look for the sign that reads: "We are scientists. Ask us anything!"

San Diego Yoga Festival (SDYF) is an epic 4-day yoga festival offering non-stop yoga, meditation and holistic health classes (every hour on the hour until sunset) right on the beach in Imperial Beach! Classes will be held from Friday, March 9 to to Monday, March 12, 2018: the main festival is on Saturday and Sunday which will have thousands of people experiencing all types of yoga and holistic health classes.

Participate in a Wikipedia edit-a-thon and help increase the coverage of women scientists in Wikipedia. Enjoy lectures about how members of the public have made amazing contributions to local research projects. Anyone can help science--find out how at this FREE event.

Fun Science and Art Events at EcoVivarium's Living Museum

Oxygen is required for survival, but just how necessary is it and what limits can be tolerated in extreme low oxygen environments? A panel of UC San Diego scientists will discuss beneficial responses to low oxygen and the unique physiology of species adapted to life ranging from the depths of the sea to the highest villages in the world. They will also explain less adaptive responses that may occur due to illness and potential solutions.
