The Innovators LAB is our collaborative makerspace where we work with local artists and experts from various fields to create a design challenge to nurture creativity, problem solving, skill building, and learning.

We offer both “drop in” and “scheduled” workshops.

Join us for an afternoon of hands-on science experiments, technology, and fun! Students will rotate around five stations, each one focusing on a different letter of S.T.E.A.M.

“From Bach To Rock" – March 8th-9th, 2018 Concerts at 9:30 & 11:30 a.m. @The Historic Balboa Theatre
A closer look at the original rock star of the classical world. Classics 4 Kids will detail the profile of J.S. Bach and how this historical figure continues to influence the music trends of today. STEAM topics to include innovation and advances in technology that impact the world of music. Scroll down for details!

Fun Science and Art Events at EcoVivarium's Living Museum

Learn and experience STEM through interactive booths run by Sweetwater's own high school students! Interactive booths will include: Science of dry ice, Maker Space wind tunnel, non-Newtonian Slime, Science of Sand and Polymers, and more! In addition, you can see a 3D printer in action, learn how biodeisel is made, play puzzle games, pet some reptiles, see some awesome robots, and much more!

Design and build like an architect in celebration of Teen Tech Week, in March. During this 4-day workshop, you will have an opportunity to design a 2D floor plan and then use foam core to build a mini 3D architectural model to scale. Showcase of your models, will take place on Thursday, March 9th in the library.

Open to ages 12 and up.

Join us for a night of art and science. The San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering and the Fleet Science Center are partnering with Wine & Canvas San Diego to bring you a night of creativity and enlightenment. Local artist Amanda Rouse will lead you through the process of creating your own masterpiece, a beautiful sunset scene of the Ocean Beach Pier, while her husband, Dr. Robert Letscher, shares his experience and work as a marine biogeochemist researcher who contributes to next-generation climate models.
